Justification
RECOMMENDED ACTION:
ADVERTISE for bids to be received on Thursday, May 26, 1988 at
2 : 00 p.m.
DIRECT the Clerk of the Board to publish the Notice to
Contractors in accordance with Section 20392 of the Public
Contact Code.
FINANCIAL IMPACT:
The estimated contract cost of the project is $344 , 400. It is to
be funded by the Road Fund.
REASONS FOR RECOMMENDATION/BACKGROUND:
The Public Works Director filed with the Board of Supervisors
the Plans and Specifications for the Rubber Chipseal Project on
March 29, 1988 and advertised for bids to be received on April
21, 1988. No bids were received. We are advertising a second
time to attempt to obtain some bids.
The general prevailing rates of wages, which shall be the minimum
rates paid on this project, have been filed with the Clerk of the
Board and copies will be made available to any interested party
upon request.
The project has been determined to be in compliance with the
General Plan. It has been determined that this project is exempt
from CEQA requirements as a Class 1C Categorical Exemption,
maintenance on County-maintained roads. The Board hereby concurs
in said determination.
