RECOMMENDATION Approve and Authorize the Public Works Director to execute a the Consulting Services Agreement with Mills Associates to prepare the final Environmental Assessment/Initial Study for the Appian Way Triangle project in the amount of $1, 655. II. FINANCIAL IMPACT The study is funded by the El Sobrante Area of Benefit. REASONS FOR RECOMMENDATION/BACKGROUND The County is applying for Federal Aid Urban (FAU) funds for the construction of the Appian Way Triangle project. The Environmental Assessment/Initial Study is part of the environmental documentation required to secure funding under the FAU program. The Transportation Committee reviewed this matter on May 23 , 1988 . IV. CONSEQUENCES OF NEGATIVE ACTION Failure to approve a Consulting Services Agreement for the study will require County staff to prepare the final Environmental Assessment/Initial Study which could result in increased costs due to the specialized nature of the work.
