III. REASONS FOR RECOMMENDATION/BACKGROUND
The County is applying for Federal Aid Urban (FAU) funds for the
construction of the Appian Way Triangle project. The
Environmental Assessment/Initial Study is part of the
environmental documentation required to secure funding under the
FAU program.
The Transportation Committee reviewed this matter on May 23 ,
1988 .
IV. CONSEQUENCES OF NEGATIVE ACTION
Failure to approve a Consulting Services Agreement for the study
will require County staff to prepare the final Environmental
Assessment/Initial Study which could result in increased costs
due to the specialized nature of the work.
