I. RECOMMENDATION
Approve Contra Costa County's Transportation Development Act
Article III Bicycle/Pedestrian Path Priorities List for Fiscal
Year 1988/89, and forward it to the Metropolitan Transportation
Commission (MTC) for final approval and allocation of funding
effective July 1, 1988 :

III. REASONS FOR RECOMMENDATION/BACKGROUND
The Urban Systems Technical Advisory Committee (USTAC) composed
of City, County and Caltrans engineers, MTC and various transit
authorities met on February 5, 1988 and approved the 1988/89
Bicycle/Pedestrian Priority List for Contra Costa County in
accordance with Resolution No. 78/505. USTAC recommended the
Board of Supervisors approve the list and forward it to MTC for
funding allocation.
On March 3 , 1988, The Contra Costa County Mayors ' Conference met
and approved the 1988/89 Bicycle/Pedestrian Priority List as
recommended by USTAC.
On March 7, 1988 , the Priority List was presented to the County
Transportation Committee for approval.
Mr. Mike Walford, Public Works Director of Contra Costa County
and Chairman of USTAC, recommended the Board approve the Priority
List and forward it to MTC.
