III. REASONS FOR RECOMMENDATIONIBACKGROUND
One of the conditions of approval for Development Permit No.
3041-85, required Sunset Development Company, to dedicate the
necessary right of way on the north side of Bollinger Canyon Road
between Camino Ramon and the former Southern Pacific Railroad to
accommodate an additional westbound lane. The construction
costs will come from the $1, 000 per dwelling unit fee from the
Canyon Lake Development deposited in the Bishop Ranch Area of
Benefit Trust Account. The City of San Ramon has retained for
Bryan and Murphy to design the project. The City will advertise
and administer the construction project this Spring. The project
is estimated by the City to cost $350, 000.
As part of this project, Sunset Development Company has relocated
its landscaping from 75 feet east of Camino Ramon to the Southern
Pacific Railroad at a final cost of $14 , 325. This work was
approved by the County Public Works Department and the City of
San Ramon.
