REASONS FOR RECOMMENDATION/BACKGROUND:
The Agency is constructing major street improvements for the
Pleasant Hill BART Specific Plan area. This contract change order
provides for changes which are required because of unanticipated
conflicts with various utilities and/or adjacent projects. It
also provides for work not included in the original contract.
This change order provides for compensation to the contractor for
which are required to complete the project.
Because this change order and the previously approved change order
collectively exceed $25, 000, Agency approval is required.
CONSEQUENCES OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
Failure to approve the change order will significantly delay
construction of the improvements as well as impact public access
to the Pleasant Hill BART Station.
