SUBJECT: In the Matter of Updating Previously) Adopted Compensation Resolutions for) RESOLUTION NO. 88/232 Management and Unrepresented Classes) for FY 87/88 and 'FY 88/89 ) THE CONTRA COSTA COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS RESOLVES: The Board having on December 1, 1987 adopted Resolution No. 87/687 setting compensation and benefit levels for County officers, management and unrepresented employees during fiscal years 1987-88 and 1988-89; and The County Administrator having advised that corrections and further additions are necessary to compensation provisions for certain classes covered under Resolution No. 87/687; and The Board having adopted Memoranda of Understanding with the Deputy Sheriff's Association, the District Attorney Investigator's Association and the Appraiser's Association for fiscal years 1987-88 containing certain provisions which are applicable to related management classes; therefore The Contra Costa County Board of Supervisors Resolves that Resolution No. 87/687 is amended as follows: 1. Effective April 1, 1988 salaries of the classifications set forth below are as specified: Classification/Code Salary Schedule/Level 1. Lieutenant (6XHA) C5 2008 ($3382-4111) 2. District Attorney Lt. of Inspectors (6KNB) C5 2008 ($3328-4111) 3. Special Employment Prog. Coord.- Project (AGT2) C5 1840 ($2859-3476) 4. Legal Research Attorney - Exempt (2EY2) C5 1808 ($2769-3366) 5. Assistant Marshal (6RB2) C5 2075 ($3616-4396) 2. In lieu of retroactive pay requiring special payroll recomputation and processing back to July 1, 1987 or October 1, 1987, the County will make a lump sum single payment to each affected employee in the classes listed above in Section 1 based on payment methodology previously established. For consistency of treatment with the class of Deputy County Counsel II to which it has been previously tied, the exempt class of Legal Research Attorney shall have a 2% lump sum payment back to July 1, 1987 computed on the salary schedule/level C5 1779 ($2690-3270) . This class shall be considered for future increases in relation to Deputy Public Defender II. RESOLUTION NO. 88/232 3. The monthly uniform allowance for management employees in the classifications of Chief Executive Assistant Sheriff, Assistant Sheriff, Chief Deputy Sheriff, Captain, Lieutenant, Deputy Sheriff-Chief Criminalistics Laboratory, Supervising Criminalist, Sheriff's Fiscal Officer, Sheriff's Chief of Management Services, Animal Control Supervisor and Chief Animal Control Supervisor shall be forty dollars ($40.00) per month effective"January 1, 1988. 4. Effective April 1, 1988, eligible management and unrepresented employees in appraisal classes will be entitle to a salary differential of $30.00 per month for possession of a certification for educational achievement from at least one of the following: a. American Institute of Real Estate Appraisers(RM) Residential Member designation. b. State Board of Equalization-Advanced Appraiser certification. c. International Association of Assessing Officers-(RES) Residential Evaluation Specialist. d. Society of Auditor-Appraisers-Master Auditor-Appraiser designation. e. Society of Real Estate Appraisers-Senior Residential Appraiser designation. f. Any other certification approved by the County Assessor and the Director of Personnel . 5. Effective April 1, 1988, employees in the class of Supervising Appraisers shall be eligible for mileage reimbursement at $.22 for the first 700 miles. 6. Provisions regarding lump sum payment in lieu of retroactive pay back to July 1, 1987 or October 1, 1987, as contained in Section 2 above, shall be applicable to any employee who has retired during the lump sum computation time frame. In addition, Resolution No. 87/756 (Compensation for Classes Represented by the Deputy Sheriff's Association) adopted December 29, 1987 by the Board is amended to provide that the lump sum payment afforded employees in classifications represented by the Deputy Sheriffs' Association during the time period of July 1, 1987 through November 30, 1987 is also extended to employees in said classifications who retired during the same time period.
