The Summit will be held May 18 and 19 ' at the Kaiser Family Foundation Convention Center in Palo Alto. The agenda which is attached to Dr. Brunner' s memo demonstrates how outstanding this Summit will be. We have brought together leaders in cancer research and cancer prevention from the Bay Area as well as nationally. This Summit is .probably unique in the United States in bringing together leaders from throughout a geographic region to :develop a coordinated, regional approach to cancer. prevention. As Dr. Brunner indicates in his memo, many of the costs .for the Summit are being borne by the Kaiser Family Foundation and for this we are especially grateful. The agenda for the second day of the. conference is being planned by the Stanford Health Promotion Resource Center at the Stanford University Medical School. We enthusiastically recommend the Board' s endorsement of the Bay Area Cancer Prevention Summit.
