BACKGROUND:
Our Committee has been meeting periodically with Sara Hoffman,
our Cable TV Administrator, to receive status reports on progress
in negotiating a new Cable TV Ordinance. At our last meeting on
April 11, 1988 , Ms. Hoffman presented our Committee with five
issues on which she wanted policy direction in terms of
negotiations with the cable companies. We have discussed each of-
the issues and have indicated in the above recommendations the
position we believe the County staff should take in the
negotiations with the cable companies. We would urge the Board' s
endorsement of these positions in order to provide clear
direction and support for staff ' s negotiations.
