RECOMMENDED ACTION: Award contract for lead base paint abatement work at CA011010, Bayo Vista, Rodeo, to the lowest responsible bidder, Younger-Wunar, Inc. , 2107 Kearney Street, El Cerrito, CA 94530, at Base Bid No. 1 in the amount of $99,256.00, as recommended by the Advisory Housing Commission. II. FINANCIAL IMPACT: Under the Fiscal Year 1987 Comprehensive Improvement Assistance Program $100,000 was allocated to the Housing Authority of the County of Contra Costa to proceed with Phase I of the abatement work at CA011010, Bayo Vista, Rodeo. III. REASONS FOR RECOMMENDATION/BACKGROUND: Bid requests were advertised in the Contra Costa Times. Bids were opened on Wednesday, March 30, 1988 at 2:00 p.m. and were received from three contracting companies. Younger-Wunar, Inc. , 2107 Kearney Street, El Cerrito, California, with Base Bid No. 1 in the amount of $99,256.00 was determined as the lowest responsible bidder. The Advisory Housing Commission at its Regular Meeting on April 18, 1988 voted to recommend awarding the bid for lead base paint abatement work to be accomplished at CA011010 Bayo Vista, Rodeo to the lowest responsible bidder, Younger-Wunar, Inc. with Base 'Bid #1 in the amount of $99,256.00. IV. CONSEQUENCES OF NEGATIVE ACTION: Should the Board of Commissioners elect to not award the contract for the lead base paint abatement work at CA011010, Bayo Vista, Rodeo, to Younger-Wunar,Inc. this work could not be accomplished on a timely basis and the costs of the work would increase beyond the available HUD Comprehensive Improvement Assistance Program funding.
