HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 03081988 - 1.48 1-04 9 .TO: REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY FROM: PHIL BATCHELOR, EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR DATE: February 25, 1988 SUBJECT: Reimbursement Agreement with Connecticut General Life Insurance Company (CIGNA) SPECIFIC REQUEST S) OR RECOMMENDATIONS(S) & BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION RECOMMENDATIONS Authorize the Executive Director or his designee to prepare and execute a Reimbursement Agreement with Connecticut General Life Insurance Company (CIGNA) for landscaping improvements at the Buskirk/BART Office Building in the Pleasant Hill BART Station Redevelopment Project Area. FISCAL IMPACT Construction funds from Assessment District 1983-1 administered by the Agency are available for payment of the noted reimbursement. BACKGROUND/REASONS FOR RECOMMENDATIONS The Redevelopment Agency has entered into a Disposition and Development Agreement (DDA) with Taylor/Ward Properties and Sonspirit Properties in the Pleasant Hill BART Station Redevelopment Project Area. The DDA requires the Agency to reimburse the Developer for costs incurred in replacing landscaping impacted by right of way dedication and street realignment along Buskirk, Wayne Drive and Oak Road In addition, the DDA requires the Developer to make certain improvements to the unaffected landscaping in order to upgrade the appearance. The Developer followed a bid process with respect to this work and received five ( 5) bids. Low bid was submitted by Sunrise Landscaping of Martinez at $55,400. The balance, $25,606, is work being done by the Developer to upgrade the landscaping as required under the DDA. The Buskirk/BART Office Building is currently owned by CIGNA which is responsible for carrying out the requirements of the DDA with respect to their improvements. They will contract with Sunrise Landscaping for the work and submit a request to the Agency for reimbursement of its portion. The Agency will not release the total of its funds until the contract is completed and the work is approved. �I
