Justification
I . RECOMMENDED ACTION:
APPROVE the Plans and Specifications for the Pomona Street
Frontage Improvement Project and ADVERTISE for bids to be
received on Thursday, March 31 , 1988 at 2 : 00 p .m .
DI R E C T the C1 e r k of the Board to pub i sh the N o t i c to
Contractors in accordance with Section 20392 of the Public
Contract Code , and
DIRECT the Director of Community Development to file a Notice of
Exemption with the County Clerk .
II . FINANCIAL IMPACT:
The estimated contract cost of the project is $ 17 , 200 . It is to
be funded by Special District Augmentation Fund .
III . REASONS FOR RECOMMENDATION/BACKGROUND:
The Public Works Director has filed with the Board of Supervisors
the Pians and Specifications for the Pomona Street Frontage
Improvement Project .
The general prevailing rates of wages , which shall be the minimum
rates paid on this project , have been filed with the Clerk of the
Board and copies will be .made available to any interested party
upon request .

The project has been determined to be in compliance with the
General Plan , It has been determined that this project is exempt
from CEQA requirements as a Class 2C Categorical Exemption . The
basic use of the sidewalk will remain the same but the existing
sidewalk , which is a tripping hazard , will be replaced with a new
concrete sidewalk on a new alignment . The Board hereby concurs
in said determination .
