BACKGROUND INFORMATION: In 1986, the Health Services Department developed a county policy for regulating the installation of small water systems at the request of the Board of Supervisors Water Committee. There are some possible changes to this policy regarding secondary constituents (those constituents in water that don' t necessarily have a direct impact on public health) that need to be considered by the Water Committee and the Board of Supervisors after a staff report on this matter. l CONTINUED ON ATTACHMENTS L/_. Environmental Health Insp. the installation of new small water systems Attached are copies of the existing Policy Statement and the 3/10/86 Board Water Committee report o the Board of Supervisors. The change we are proposing would be confined to a redraft of policy item #2 to read as follows : 2 . Water Quality. The chemical, physical and bacteriological quality shall meet all of the standards listed in Chapter 15 , Title 22 of the California Administrative Code and any amend- ments thereto.
