BACKGROUND INFORMATION: On July 23., 1985, I referred to the Community Development Department a letter I had received from Louise Augusta Allington of the Brentwood Historical Society suggesting that the builders in the area use historical names to name new streets in Oakley. I have not received any indication that this suggestion has been ,passed on to the local builders. I also had a recent discussion with Louise Allington who also is interested in knowing what action was taken by our Community Development Department in this regard. I agree with her suggestion that builders use the family names of those who have contributed to the history of -beautiful Oakley. I feel this would be an appropriate way to recognize these long-time residents who have contributed greatly to the Oakley community. RECOMMENDED ACTION: ,, Refer to the Community Development Director to communicate this good suggestion to the builders in the Oakley area.
