HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 06161987 - S.4 S � IN THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, STATE OF CALIFORNIA In the Matter of Commemorating ) The 200th Anniversary of the ) RESOLUTION NO. 87/402 Constitution of the United ) States of America ) WHEREAS by unanimous consent of the states present on September 17, 1787, The Constitution of the United States of America was established; and WHEREAS The Constitution has remained the foundation of our government and our society since its ratification; and WHEREAS our system of government has been the most enduring republican form yet established; and WHEREAS we owe a great debt to our Founding Fathers who pioneered our new form of government; and WHEREAS people in this country need to continually renew their commitment to the ideals so eloquently expressed in The Constitution; NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors of Contra Costa County Commemorates the Bicentennial Anniversary of the United States Constitution on September 17, 1987. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors of Contra Costa County will have the county plant a tree to serve as a lasting reminder of the dedication of our forefathers and of our continued commitment to the fruits of their labor, The Constitution of the United States of America. Passed on June 16, 1987 by a unanimous vote of the Board Members present. I hereby certify that the foregoing is a true and correct copy of an order entered on the minutes of said Board of Supervisors on the date aforesaid.
