"1 J SUBJECT: Authorizing Execution of JTPA II-A Vocational Training Agreements v with Twenty-Two (22) Vocational Institutions for PY 1987-1988 SPECIFIC REQUEST(S) OR RECOMMENDATION(S) a: BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION I. RECOMMENDED ACTION: Authorize the Executive Director, Contra Costa County Private Industry Council to: (1) execute, on behalf of the County, standard form Vocational Training Agreements with twenty-two (22) Vocational Training Institutions, named in the attached "Vocational Training Institution Listing", to provide training, at the tuition rates set forth in said agreements, to eligible enrollees under the Job Training Partnership Act (JTPA) Title II-A Individual Referral Program, for the period beginning July 1, 1987 and ending June 30, 1988; and (2) execute additional standard form agreements and amendment agreements with said Vocational Training Institutions as may be needed for periodic revisions, such as adding or deleting a training course, changing the training fees or to comply with changes in state or federal regulations. II. FINANCIAL IMPACT: None. 100 percent federal funds. III. REASONS FOR RECOMMENDATION/BACKGROUND: A total of approximately $157,000 in federal funds has been allocated to operate the Individual Referral Training Program to provide training to approximately 145 JTPA - eligible Contra Costa County Private Industry Council residents. This training activity was included in the County's JTPA Two-Year (1986-1988) Job Training Plan which was approved by the Board of Supervisors on April 8, 1986.
