During this interim period, it has been customary in past years
to extend several County-funded contracts pending adoption of
the County budget so as not to cause interruption of service.
In addition, by extending the contracts, financial hardship on
the contractors is minimized. Board approval will be requested
at a later date to continue County funding beyond the approved
extension period and execute novation contracts for FY 1987-88.
CONSEQUENCES OF NEGATIVE ACTION
Services as listed above would be terminated with possible
negative consequences to the community, the clients served, and
the contractors involved.
