SB 144 is on the suspense file in the Senate Appropriations Committee. Plans are underway to have Senator Mc Corquodale take over Senator Ayalas bill, and amend the provisions of SB 1272 into SB 144. This will allow the bill to clear the Senate Appropriations Committee since it will no longer have any fiscal impact on the State. The bill will impose a $1 . 00 fee statewide and will provide for return of the funds directly to the County. This relieves the bill of any impact of the state' s "Gann" limit and eliminates potential problems requiring that the fee increase be approved by the voters. Representation: D. J.
