HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 06161987 - 1.23 THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA IN THE MATTER OF ) RESOLUTION NO. 87/320 The Japan-U.S. Senate ) Scholarship Program and ) Expression of Appreciation to ) the Honorable Prime Minister ) Nakasone of Japan ) WHEREAS, the Japan-U.S. Senate Scholarship Program is generously sponsored by the Honorable Prime Minister Nakasone of Japan; WHEREAS, one hundred students from the United States will participate in the eight-week cultural exchange program to foster good will relations and understanding between Japan and the United States; WHEREAS, the Honorable Senator Pete Wilson appointed Andra Brasuell of Antioch High School to participate as one of two student representatives from the State of California; WHEREAS, Andra Brasuell will stay with the Eizi Honma Family of Niigata, Japan, during the course of the program--June 16 to August 12, 1987. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA, does hereby express its heartfelt appreciation to the Honorable Prime Minister Nakasone for offering this sponsorship to our young students and does hereby extend its felicitous greetings to all the citizens of Japan; BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that heartfelt appreciation is extended to the Eizi Honma Family of Niigata, Japan, for opening their home to Andra Brasuell and participating in this worthwhile cultural exchange program; PASSED by unanimous vote of the Board Members present on this 16th day of June, 1987. I hereby certify that the foregoing is a true and correct copy of an order entered on the minutes of said Board of Supervisors of the date aforesaid.
