HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 05261987 - 1.2 THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA IN THE MATTER OF ) RESOLUTION NO. 87/30 Recognizing the Efforts ) of the Kiwanis Club ) in Sponsoring the Youth ) in Government Program ) WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors declared the week of April 26 , 1987, as "Youth in Government Week; " WHEREAS, the Youth in Government Program is sponsored by the Kiwanis Clubs; WHEREAS, the goals of the Youth in Government Program is to improve communication between young people and local government, to provide a positive image of today's youth, and to provide an oppor- tunity for youth people to experience and observe local government at work; WHEREAS, on April 28, 1987, twenty-three students represent- ing twenty-two high schools and county officials and department heads participated in the county' s Youth in Government Program; WHEREAS, the county's first Youth in Government Program was deemed a success by students and county officials alike and an interest has been expressed to conduct the Youth in Government Program annually; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA, does hereby commends and recognizes the hard work and dedicated efforts of the Division 27 Kiwanis Club, especially the Delta and Antioch Kiwanis, in sponsoring this outstanding program which benefits both students and county officials. PASSED by unanimous vote of the Board Members present on this 26th day of May, 1987. I hereby certify that the foregoing is a true and correct copy of an order entered on the minutes of said Board of Supervisors of the date aforesaid.
