HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 05191987 - T.9 TA THE BOARD OF, SUPERVISORS OF CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA Adopted this Order on May 19, 1987 by the following vote: AYES: Supervisors Powers, Fanden, Schroder, and Torlakson NOES: None ABSENT: Supervisor McPeak ABSTAIN: None SUBJECT: Review of Request for Reconsideration of The Decision of the Board of Supervisors on the Appeal of John Rolf Hattam, MS 16-86, Kensington Area. On April 28, 1987, the Board of Supervisors fixed this date and time for review of the request for reconsideration of the Board of Supervisors ' decision on the matter of John Rolf Hattam' s appeal from the Board of Appeals decision with respect to Minor Subdivision 16-86 in the Kensington area. Karl Wandry, Community Development Department, gave a brief history of the appeal and the request for reconsideration. Supervisor Powers clarified that this matter was before the Board for review, to determine whether to reconsider the matter not a hearing to reconsider the matter. Karl Wandry commented that no new information had been presented by Mr. Hattam to warrant a reconsideration. James Claytor, 1225 Solano Avenue, Albany, appeared for Mr. Hattam and commented that Mr. Hattam had had the opportunity to review the proposed plan in light of the objections raised by various members of the community both in writing and at the hearing and that Mr. Hattam was willing to consider reducing the proposal by one lot, to go back to what the� Planning Commission considered the correct disposition of the appeal made by the residents. Mr. Claytor commented that this was a ,good and sufficient basis for a reconsideration to be heard. Robert Hansen, 24 Kerr Avenue, Kensington, representing the Kensington Improvement Club, commented on the position of opposition by the Club on the original subdivison of the lot in 1984. Mr. Hansen also commented on lot sizes in Kensington, density, infrastructure, parking and the geology of the site. Supervisor Powers requested Mr. Hansen to meet with Mr. Hattam to see what Mr. Hattam' s new proposal was. A.C. Knight, 234 Willamette Avenue, Kensington, commented on the lot size, and that he was opposed to the Board reconsidering this issue. Charles Grant, 26 Sunset Drive, Kensington, commented that he was opposed to the reconsideration because of no new information being submitted 'l,!in the letter to the Board. Mr. Grant commented that he would be willing to discuss Mr. Hattam' s new proposal. Supervisor Powers recommended that Mr. Hattam meet with the Kensington Improvement Club and the neighbors to discuss any plans he may have and deferring action on this matter until such time as the meeting would take place. The Chairman closed the public hearing. Supervisor Powers recommended the Board take the matter under submission and render a decision on the matter on June 16, 1987. On recommendation of Supervisor Powers, IT IS BY THE BOARD ORDERED that the decision on the request for reconsideration by the Board of Supervisors with respect to the appeal of John Rolf Hattam, MS 16-86 is DEFERRED to June 16, 1987, at 9:00 a.m. and the appellant is REQUESTED to meet with the community to discuss the appellant' s revised plans. 1 hereby certify that this Is a true and corract copy of an action taken and entered on tho sninuzot.of the Board of Supervisors on the date shown.
