SUBJECT: HEARING ON TRANSPORTATION DEVELOPMENT ACT ARTICLE III BICYCLE/PEDESTRIAN
PRIORITIES LIST FOR FISCAL YEAR 1987/88
Specific Requests or Recommendations & Background & Justification
I. RECOMMENDATION
Approve Contra Costa County' s Transportation Development Act Article III Bicycle/Pedestrian
Priority List for Fiscal Year 1987/88, and forward it to the Metropolitan Transportation
Commission (MTC) by June 1, for final approval and allocation of funding.

1. Farm Bureau Road Pathway Concord $ 56,000
2. Willow Pass Road Walkway County 51,000
3. SPRR R/W Trail , Phase 4 and 5 Danville 124,000
4. Alcosta Boulevard Sidewalk San Ramon 10,000
TOTAL GRANT: $241,000
II. FINANCIAL IMPACT
The Urban Systems Technical Advisory Committee (USTAC ) composed of City, County and
Caltrans engineers, MTC and various transit authorities met on February 6, 1987 and
approved the 1987/88 Bicycle/Pedestrian Priority List for Contra Costa County in accordance
with Resolution NO. 78/505. USTAC recommended the Board of Supervisors approve the list
and forward it to MTC for funding allocation.
On May 7, 1987, the Contra Costa County Mayors' Conference met and approved the 1987/88
Bicycle/Pedestrian Priority List as recommended by USTAC .
Mr. Guy Erickson, Public Works Director of the City of Lafayette and Chairman of USTAC ,
recommended the Board approve the Priority List and forward it to MTC .
