HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 04281987 - 1.25 o IN THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, STATE OF CALIFORNIA In the Matter of Proclaiming ) the Week of May 17 - 23 , 1987 ) RESOLUTION NO. 87/241 California Traffic Safety Week ) in Contra Costa County ) WHEREAS traffic collisions are the fourth leading cause of deaths in California; and WHEREAS at least 92 percent of all injury-producing collisions are attributed to human error; and WHEREAS many of these collisions and the resulting deaths and injuries could have been prevented; and WHEREAS public and private institutions, along with concerned individuals, can promote traffic safety by increasing public awareness of safety measures; and WHEREAS the State of California is observing May 17 through May 23 , 1987 as California Traffic Safety Week; NOW THEREFORE IT IS RESOLVED by the Board of Supervisors of Contra Costa County that the week of May 17 through May 23 , 1987 is hereby PROCLAIMED as California Traffic Safety Week in Contra Costa County. IT IS FURTHER RESOLVED that the Board URGES all citizens to prevent traffic accidents by observing added caution on the roads and highways. PASSED on April 28, 1987 by unanimous vote of the Board members present. I hereby certify that the foregoing is a true and correct copy of an order entered on the minutes of said Board of Supervisors on the date aforesaid.
