Each of us benefits from the effects of tourism. It substantially enhances our personal growth and education. Tourism also .promotes intercultural understanding and appreciation of the geography, history, and people of Contra Costa County. With the economy growing, personal incomes and leisure will increase more rapidly. Tourism, therefore, can be expected to play an even greater role in the lives of the people of Contra Costa County. In recognition of the significance of the tourism industry to the enhancement of trade, understanding, and goodwill to the communities of Contra Costa County: NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Supervisors proclaim the week beginning May 17, 1987 as Contra Costa County Tourism Week, and call upon the people of Contra Costa County to observe this week with appropriate ceremonies and activities.
