HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 04101987 - T.3 T. 3 THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA Adopted this Order on March 10, 1987 by the following vote: AYES: Supervisors Fanden, Torlakson and Powers NOES: None ABSENT: Supervisors Schroder and McPeak ABSTAIN: None ----------------------------------------------------------- SUBJECT: Hearing on Proposed General Plan Amendment GPA 8-84-CO in the Oakley area. The Clerk having heretofore noticed this time for hearing on the recommendation of the East County Regional Planning Commission on a proposed amendment to the County General Plan (GPA 8-84-CO) . which includes the review, revision and reorganization of land use designations for approximately 9,000+ acres of land situated within the Oakley planning area boundaries. Part of the project also includes updating the following general plan elements as currently contained in the 1978 East County Area General Plan: Land Use, Housing, Circulation, Noise, Safety, Community Facilities, Agriculture, Open Space and Conservation; Karl Wandry, Deputy Director of Community Development, described the proposed amendment and the recommendations of the East County Planning Commission and staff; The Chairman opened the public hearing; The following people appeared and commented on the proposed amendment: Harry Tassell, 3105 Windsor Drive, Oakley; Daniel L. Miller, Box 860, Bethel Island, Vice-President, Bethel Island Area Association; Gregg Cherezian, 508 Hauth Lane, Walnut Creek; William Harvey, P.O. Box 827, Oakley, Chairman, Oakley Municipal Advisory Committee (GMAC) ; Marta Self, 1 Northwood Drive, Orinda, McGill, Martin, Self, representing property owners in the Oakley area; Mike McGill, 1 Northwood Drive, Orinda, McGill, Martin, Self, representing property owners in the Oakley area; Supervisor Powers recommended continuing the hearing to March 17 , 1987 at 3 :00 p.m. to have further public input and to allow members of the Board not present today to participate in the hearing process for the proposed amendment. Supervisor Torlakson requested the Community Development Staff to respond to concerns he expressed including buffering language, growth management, circulation, and flood control detention basins. IT IS BY THE BOARD ORDERED that the hearing on the proposed amendment to the County General Plan (GPA 8-84-CO) for the Oakley area is CONTINUED to March 17, 1987 at 3 : 00 p.m. hereby certify that this Is a true and correct copy of Orig.
