SUBJECT: Approve Contract Change Orders No. 2 and No. 3 for the Alhambra Creek Band Repair
Project near Alhambra Avenue and Linden Lane,Project No. 7505-6F8001-86, Martinez area.
Specific Requests or Recommendations & Background & Justification
RECOMMENDED ACTION:
APPROVE Contract Change Orders No. 2 and No. 3 and AUTHORIZE the Chief Engineer to execute
said change orders.
FINANCIAL IMPACT:
The project contingency funds are sufficient to cover the Change Order costs.
REASONS FOR RECOMMENDATION/BACKGROUND:
The cumulative total of Contract Change Orders No. 2 and No. 3 and the previous Contract
Change Order exceeds $25,000, requiring Board approval . Unexpected field conditions
necessitated design changes which required additional work and increases in certain contract
bid items.
CONSEQUENCES OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
The lack of approval would preclude the payments to the contractor for the work required
for the successful completion of the contract.
