HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 03311987 - S.11 IN THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, STATE OF CALIFORNIA In the Matter of Commemorating ) the Tenth Anniversary of the ) RESOLUTION NO. 87/172 California Conservation Corps ) WHEREAS the California Conservation Corps was established ten years agd—to aid the employment and development of young people and to conserve and enhance California's natural resources; and WHEREAS each year the Corps performs more than three million hours of public service conservation work and emergency assistance throughout the State; and WHEREAS the Corps engenders skills such as hard work, puntuality, cooperation and responsibility, skills which remain with members throughout their lives; and WHEREAS the Corps provides assistance to Contra Costa County by maintaining„parks, trails, creeks and other public areas; and WHEREAS the Corps helps to protect residents of Contra Costa County by stationing two fire fighting crews in the East Bay for six months out of every year; and WHEREAS the Corps is currently moving its five-county headquarters to Contra Costa County; NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors of Contra Costa County COMMENDS the California Conservation Corps for its fine work over the last ten years. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors of Contra Costa County WISHES the California Conservation Corps a happy Tenth Anniversary. PASSED on March 31, 1987 by unanimous vote of the Board members present. I hereby certify that the foregoing is a true and correct copy of an order entered on the minutes of said Board of Supervisors on the date aforesaid.
