GOVERNOR'S CHALLENGE SEMINAR ON CRIME PREVENTION SPECIFIC REQUEST(S) OR RECOMMENDATION(S) a BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION REQUEST That the Board appoint the individuals listed below to represent the County at the Governor's Challenge Seminar on Crime Prevention. That the Board authorize the Sheriff, or his designee, to make all necessary arrangements, on behalf of the County, for County participation in the seminar. INDIVIDUALS Lieutenant Robert Henderson-Sheriff's Department Administration Sergeant Scott Parsons-Sheriff's Department Crime Prevention Supervisor Martha Watson-West County Merilyn Pezzuto-West County Leona Hermansader-West County Christie Schneider-East County Bertha Stobb-East County Robert Myhre-Central County BACKGROUND An invitation from Governor George Deukmejian requesting County participation in the 1987 Governor's Challenge Seminar on Crime Prevention was recently received by the Board. Each participating County must send a team of at least five, but no more than ten, representatives, The Northern California seminar is scheduled for April 20-21 in Redding. The seminar, and corresponding request by the Governor, were refered to the Sheriff's Department by the Board on February 25.
