FINANCIAL IMPACT: None REASONS FOR RECOMMENDATION/BACKGROUND: The cashiers' daily cash register change fund is taken from the court's petty cash fund. This fund is currently set at $550 and each of the five cashiers has a total of $40 in his/her daily cash register change allowance. According to the Court Administrator, this amount is insufficient for daily cash transactions involving increasingly large fines. The cashiers frequently run out of change and must leave their window to obtain change from the Accounting Division. This results in a delay in collecting payments from people waiting in line. The Court Administrator feels that increasing the petty cash fund by $175 to a new total of $725 will allow each cashier to increase his/her daily change fund from $40 to $75. The additional $35 in change per cashier should alleviate the need for the cashier to obtain additional change. This increase will also bring Bay Municipal Court into line with the petty cash fund allowances in the other three municipal courts. i CONTINUED ON ATTACHMENT: YES SIGNATURE: X RECOMMENDATION OF COUNTY ADMINISTRATOR RECOMMENDATION A COMMITTEE X APPROVE OTHER SIGNATURE(S) ACTION OF BOARD ON APPROVED AS RECOMMENDED X OTHER VOTE OF SUPERVISORS X UNANIMOUS (ABSENT ) 1 HEREBY CERTIFY THAT THIS IS A TRUE AYES: NOES: AND CORRECT COPY OF AN ACTION TAKEN ABSENT: ABSTAIN: AND ENTERED ON THE MINUTES OF THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS ON THE DATE SHOWN.
