Spooner , Contracts Administrator CWICI DATE: March 19, 1987 C J`'" "7 SUBJECT: Approval of Standard Agreement (Amendment) #29-609-29 with the State Department of Health Services ( State 83-81918 A-7 ). for Prepaid Health Services for Medi-Cal Beneficiaries SPECIFIC REQUEST(S) OR RECOMMENDATION(S) & BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION I . RECOMMENDED ACTION : Approve and authorize the .Chair to execute on behalf of the County, Standard Agreement (Amendment) #29-609-29 (State #83-81918 A-7 ) effective February 24, 1987 with the State Department of Health Services to amend Standard Agreement #29-609-21 (effective January 1, 1984) for prepaid health services for Medi-Cal beneficiaries with a $200, 000 increase in the contract payment limit for fiscal year 1986-87 . II . FINANCIAL IMPACT : The State anticipates that the County' s FY 86-87 current contract payment limit will be reached before the end of the fiscal year . Approval of this amendment will result in an increased State funding encumbrance of $200, 000 , from $4 , 341 , 176 to a new total FY 1986-87 payment limit of $4 , 541 , 176 . There is no change in the per capita rates of payment . The Health Plan' s Director , Finance and Administration, antici- pates no increase in revenues based on expected enrollment levels . III . REASONS FOR RECOMMENDATIONS/BACKGROUND: On December 20, 1983 , the Board approved Contract #29-609-21 with the State Department of Health Services for prepaid health services for Medi-Cal beneficiaries . Subsequent amendments were approved on May 8, 1984, February 26 , 1985 , April 16, 1985 " September 17 , 1985 , June 3 , 1986 and September 30, 1986 . The purpose of Standard Agreement #29-609-29 is to increase the contract payment limit for FY 1986-87 with no other changes in contract terms . This document has been approved by the Department ' s Contracts and Grants Administrator in accordance with the guidelines approved by the Board' s Order of December 1 , 1981 (Guidelines for contract preparation and processing , Health Services Department) . The Board Chair should sign nine copies of the contract , eight of which should then be returned to the Contracts and Grants Unit for submission to State Department of Health Services .
