Due to the short time frame and in order to provide local
agencies maximum opportunity to prepare the actual RFP, the
Private Industry Council of Contra Costa County on March 3,
1987 requested interested parties to submit a short summary
(two copies of the RFP signature page) to the PIC office by
noon on Monday, March 16, 1987 reviewed all summaries and
approved their submission. The Private Industry Council
also suthorized the PIC Executive Director to sign off (on
behalf of the PIC Chair) in any 8% RFP's received after March
16 but on or before April 6, 1987.
The 8% RFP (in accordance with the recent amendments to the
Job Training Partnership Act of 1982) addresses the following
three priorities:
1) Literacy training -for youth ages 16-21;
2) literacy training for adults; and
3) dropout prevention and reenrollment services for high
risk youth.
