As envisioned, this system will augment existing land records and computer graphics systems to serve many agencies. The geographic information system will be designed to support such applications as property mapping and management, land use and environmental planning, transportation, engineering drafting and design, emergency response functions, and other geographically related operations. The County has retained the services of P1anGraphics, Inc. , a consulting firm specializing in geographic information system design, to evaluate needs and assist in developing specifications. Your organization could realize significant benefits from the use of such a system, and we would like to invite your participation in this study. As an organization providing vital services to residents in the County; the geographic 'information system could help to more effectively fulfill your needs for maps and geographic data. We ask for your participation in a Technology Seminar to be held on Monday, March 23. The Technology Seminar will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the County Administration Building, 651 Pine St. , Martinez - Room 107. Its purpose. is to acquaint project participants with terms and concepts in automated mapping and geographic information system technology. The first hour of this Workshop will be a summary appropriate for management and staff. The remainder of the Seminar will treat topics in more detail and is more appropriate for mid-level managers and staff directly involved in the compilation, maintenance, and routine use of maps and geographic data.
