HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 07151986 - 1.33 THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA Adopted this Order on July 15 , 1986 , by the following vote: AYES: Supervisors Fanden, Schroder, Torlakson, Powers NOES: None ABSENT: Supervisor McPeak ABSTAIN: None -------------------------------------------------------------------- -------------------------------------------------------------------- SUBJECT: Proposed Termination of Two Permanent-Intermittent Positions in the Health Services Department The Board considered the recommendation of the Health Services Director to abolish two Permanent-Intermittent positions in the Health Services Department because of termination of Federal funds for the project. Deborah Tupper, representing Social Services Union, Local 535 , appeared before the Board on behalf of the two employees whose positions are being abolished and urged the Board to fund the posi- tions from the County General Fund. She noted that the two employees are senior citizens and recommended that the Office on Aging be requested to review all possibilities to relocate the two employees into another department or agency. Supervisor Tom Powers requested that decision be deferred for one week to afford the Health Services Director and staff of the Office on Aging to explore alternatives available other than the lay-off.
