THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA
DATE: June 3, 1986 MATTER OF RECORD
----------------------------------------------------------------------
----------------------------------------------------------------------
SUBJECT: SB 878 proposed amendment
The Board earlier this day adopted Resolution 86/326
approving a schedule to be used for the completion of the tasks
leading to the adoption of the transportation expenditure plan and
placing a proposition on the ballot calling for an election to
determine whether the sales tax should be increased by 1/2 cent to
finance such an expenduture plan.
Supervisor Torlakson requested the County Administrator
and the Director of Community Development to report to the Board as
soon as possible as to the feasibility of amending proposed legisla-
tion SB 878 to provide for a guarantee that local jurisdictions will
not be penalized for funds currently available and allocated.
Later in the day, Barbara Neustadter, Deputy Director of
Community Development for Transportation Planning, reported that
staff did not recommend amending SB 878 at this time, but did recom-
mend amending AB 3299 to remove the fund stipulation provision and
allowing for county swaps.
THIS IS A MATTER OF RECORD. NO BOARD ACTION WAS TAKEN AT THIS TIME.
