HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 06101986 - 1.7 THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA Adopted this Order on June 10, 1986 by the following vote: AYES: Supervisors Fanden, Schroder, McPe,ak, Torlakson $ Powers NOES: None ABSENT: None ABSTAIN: None SUBJECT: Approve Project Agreements with the Soil Conservation Service for Storm Damage Repair Projects along Natural Creeks, Martinez, Lafayette and San Pablo Area. Project No. 7505-6F8167-86 On April 1 , 1986 , the Board of Supervisors, as the governing body of the Contra Costa County Flood Control and Water Conservation District, requested that the United States Department of Agriculture, Soil Conservation Service (Service) , include three sites along Las Trampas Creek in its 1986 Emergency Stream Bank Restoration Program. Since then additional sites , two on Las Trampas Creek, two on Alhambra Creek and one on San Pablo Creek, have been identified for inclusion in the Program. The Chief Engineer having reported that all of the above sites are now eligible under that program, and having recommended that the Board authorize the District to enter into agreements with the Service to repair the stream bank at the aforementioned sites; and The Chief Engineer having reported that the owners of 22 properties who are eligible under the program are willing to participate, that Plans and Specifica- tions are being prepared by engineers retained by the owners to complete said work under eight separate construction contracts, five for Las Trampas Creek, two for Alhambra Creek, and one for San Pablo Creek, at an estimated total cost of $750,000, and that the Service requires the execution of individual project agreements between the District and the Service for each of the eight contracts, and that said agreements are identical except for the description of the project and the project cost; and The Chief Engineer having submitted the eight agreements to the Board and having recommended that the Board authorize the District to enter into agreements with the Service, approve said agreements, and authorize the Chief Engineer to execute said agreements on behalf of the District.
