SUBJECT: ORDINANCE NO. 12 FOR SANITATION DISTRICT NO. 15
Specific Requests or Recommendations A Background b Justification
RECOMMENDATION
I. That the Board of Supervisors of Contra Costa County as and constituting the Board of
Directors of Contra Costa County Sanitation District No. 1.5, introduce Ordinance
No. 12 entitled "An Ordinance Establishing Annual Sewer Service Charges for Fiscal
Year 1986-1987 in Contra Costa County Sanitation District No. 1.5."
2. That the Board of Supervisors hold a public meeting to consider oral and written
objections or comments concerning establishing the annual sewer and water service
charges for Fiscal Year 1986-1987, on June 10, 1986 at 10:30 a.m. in the Board of
Supervisors Chambers, 651 Pine Street, Martinez, California.
3. That a notice of the time and place of the meeting including a general explanation of
the matter to be considered be mailed at least 14 days prior to the meeting to any
interested party who files a written requests with the District for mailed notice
pursuant to Government Code Section 54992.
4. That at least 10 days before the public meeting, the District shall make available to
the public data indicating the amount of cost, or estimated cost, required to provide
the service for which the charge is levied, and the revenue sources anticipated to
provide the service.
FINANCIAL IMPACT
The above actions have no impact on County finances. County services to Sanitation District
No. 15 are funded entirely by the annual sewer service charges.
REASONS FOR RECOMMENDATION/BACKGROUND
Each year the County Sanitation Districts are required to set by Ordinance the annual sewer
service charges. Government Code Section 54992 describes what steps are necessary before
such an ordinance can be adopted.
