SUBJECT: Sale of Surplus Real Property
Cypress Road
Project No. 0662-6U4326
Oakley Area
The Board of Supervisors of Contra Costa County RESOLVES THAT:
Contra Costa County acquired the real property in the vicinity of Cypress Road
adjacent to Assessor' s Parcel Number 035-030-042 in Oakley, described in Exhibit "A"
attached hereto , for road widening purposes. Said property is DETERMINED to be
surplus and no longer required for any County or public purposes and its estimated
value does not exceed $10,000.00
This Board hereby APPROVES and AUTHORIZES the sale of said property to Donald
C. Mehaffey, pursuant to Government Code Section 25526.5 and the Board Chair is hereby
AUTHORIZED to execute a Quitclaim Deed on behalf of the County in consideration for
the payment received in full in the amount of $1,000.00, the estimated fair market
value of the property.
The Real Property Division is DIRECTED to cause the Quitclaim Deed to be delivered
to the grantee.
The Board hereby FINDS that the project will not have a significant effect on
the environment, and DETERMINES that the project is exempt from the requirements
of the California Environmental Quality Act as a Class 12 Categorical Exemption under
County Guidelines and Section 15312 of the State CEQA Guidelines, and DIRECTS the
Public Works Director to file a Notice of Exemption with the County Clerk. The
project has been determined to be exempt from 65402 review in accordance with the Board
of Supervisors Resolution 81/522 because the project involves a road alignment project
of a minor nature.

SALE OF SURPLUS

Exhibit "A"
A portion of the East 1 /2 of the Northeast 1 /4 of the South west 1 /4
of Section 26 , Township 2 North, Range 2 East, Mount Diablo Base and
Meridian, Contra Costa County, California, being the southerly 10
feet of that certain 20' strip of land as described in the Deed from
Lawrence Mehaffey to Contra Costa County Recorded on August 12 , 1963
in Book 4445 of Official Records on Page 104, and more particularly
described as follows :
Commencing at the northeast corner of the East 1 /2 of the Northeast
1 /4 of the Southwest 1 /4 of said Section 26 , said point being on the
center of Cypress Road as described in said Deed (4445 OR 104) , being
2640 feet more or less distant East from the center line of Empire
Avenue; thence South along the East line of the Southwest 1 /4 of
Section 26 , 20.00 feet; thence West parallel with said Cypress Road
centerline 300 .00 feet to the northeast corner of the parcel of land
described in said Deed (4445 OR 104) , thence South 10.00 feet along
the easterly boundary of said parcel of land to the True Point of
Beginning; thence continuing South 00°56 ' 34" West along said easterly
boundary 10.00 feet to the southeast corner of the parcel described
herein, thence South 89°14' 58" East 361 .05 feet parallel with said
Cypress Road center line to the southwest corner of said parcel,
thence North 00°56 ' 15" East 10.00 feet along the easterly boundary of
Subdivision 6394 as shown on the Subdivision Map recorded October 11 ,
1984 in Book 283 of Maps at Page 34 to the northwest corner of said
parcel, thence North 89°14'58" West 361 .05 feet parallel with said
Cypress Road center line to the northeast corner of said parcel and
the TRUE POINT OF BEGINNING.
Containing a net area of 3610 square feet, more or less.
