HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 04291986 - T.4 THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA Adopted this Order on April 29,_1986 , by the following vote: AYES: Supervisors Fanden, Schroder, McPeak, Torlakson, Powers NOES: None ABSENT: None ABSTAIN: None -------------------------------------------------------------------- -------------------------------------------------------------------- SUBJECT: Hazardous Waste Task Force Report The Board on April 22, 1986 fixed this date for a workshop with members of the Hazardous Waste Task Force. Appearing on behalf of the Hazardous Waste Task Force were Paul De Falco, Chair, Bryant Fischback, representing The Industrial Association, Kathy Radke, representing the Contra Costa Mayors' Conference, and Arliss Ungar, representing the League of Women Voters. The Task Force members commented on the Executive Summary and the recommendations contained in the report. They noted that all recommendations were based on a consensus with the exception of Recommendation #56 related to land use permits. Supervisor Nancy C. Fanden advised that she would like some examples of State and Federal rules and regulations that might take precedence over County regulations. She also requested a list of projects for which a current permit application has been submitted. Supervisor Sunne W. McPeak noted that further clarification of Recommendation #56 was required with respect to land use permits for industrial zoned land. There being no further discussion, IT IS BY THE BOARD ORDERED that the Director of Community Development is REQUESTED to provide clarification as to when State and Federal regulations on hazardous waste take precedence over County regulations or apply in the absence of County regulations. IT IS FURTHER ORDERED that the Director of Community Development is REQUESTED to provide a listing of all current permit applications for new or expanded projects which generate, store, transport or dispose of hazardous waste. IT IS FURTHER ORDERED that the Director of Community Development is REQUESTED to clarify the issues as stated in Recommendation #56 of the Hazardous Waste Task Force Report relating to land use permits for industrial zoned land, and the permitting requirements of Bay Area counties. 1 hereby certify that this Is a true and correct copy of an action taken and entered on the minutes of the Board of Supervisors on the date shown.
