Underwood Upon His ) RESOLUTION NO. 86/114 Retirement from Contra Costa ) County's Election Department ) WHEREAS Lon K. Underwood is retiring on March 289 1986 from service as Assistant County Registrar, a position he was appointed to on August 16, 1954; and WHEREAS Lon was employed by the County on March 119 1949 as a Junior Draftsman in the County Assessor's Office, was promoted to Senior Draftsman, then transferred to the County Clerk Election Division as a Special District and Precinct Technician; and WHEREAS Lon has successfully implemented an Election Information Management System along with the MARK A-VOTE Ballot System in Contra Costa County; and . WHEREAS Lon is very active with the County Clerk's Association's Legislative Committee and is an active member of the Martinez Lions Club, the Alamo Parlor of the Masons and was an active member of the DeMolay Program for six years; and WHEREAS Lon is deeply respected as a tremendous human being whom many feel honored to know; NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Supervisors of Contra Costa County that Lon K. Underwood is COMMENDED for his dedicated and devoted service to the citizens of Contra Costa County. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors EXTENDS to Lon K. Underwood its Best Wishes for a long, happy and rewarding retirement. PASSED on March 18, 1986 by unanimous vote of the Board members present. McPeak, District IV Tom Torlakson, District V Witness my hand and the Seal of the Board of Supervisors affixed this 18th day of March, 1986 PHIL BATCHELOR, Clerk of the Board of Supervisors and County Administrator Resolution 86/114 THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA In the Matter of: ) Commending the Contra Costa- ) Alameda Cattlemen' s Association. ) RESOLUTION NO. 86/123 WHEREAS the Contra Costa-Alameda Cattlemen' s Association was established at the turn of the century as the Stockman' s -Association; and WHEREAS the Association is a member of a State as well as a National Cattlemen' s Association providing support to the cattle industry across the nation; and WHEREAS the 225-member-strong Contra Costa-Alameda Cattlemen' s Association aids cattle growers, an important segment of our community, with information and expertise in marketing, legislative support, representation on advisory boards and commissions reflecting cattle producers' interests, support of the Sheriff ' s Rural Crime Prevention Program, and providing for the general welfare of cattle ranchers; and WHEREAS the Association serves all of the citizens of our County through its educational role, including the environmental impact of cattle on our community, and through its support of the 4-H Program and Future Farmers of America; and WHEREAS National Agriculture Week has been designated as March 16 through March 22, 1986, and March 20, 1986 as Agriculture Day; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CONTRA COSTA COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS that the Contra Costa-Alameda Cattlemen' s Association is COMMENDED for its service to the cattle growers in our County and to all our citizens. PASSED by unanimous vote of the Board Members present on this 18th day of March, 1986. PHIL BATCHELOR, County Administrator and Clerk of the Board of Supervisors Resolution 86/123 THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA In the Matter of: ) Commending the Contra Costa ) RESOLUTION NO. 86/122 County Farm Bureau. ) WHEREAS the Contra Costa County Farm Bureau was established in 1919 as a voluntary, nonprofit organization of farmers working together to advance the interests of agriculture producers; and WHEREAS the Farm Bureau is a member of the 53-county California Farm Bureau Federation and the American Farm Bureau Federation; and WHEREAS the nearly 2,100 members in Contra Costa County serve not only the agricultural community, but all of the citizens through their support of many community programs, including the 4-H Program and the County Fair, and especially their involvement in agricultural education to inform rural and urban dwellers alike of the importance of agriculture in our lives; and WHEREAS the week of March 16 through March 22, 1986 has been proclaimed as National Agriculture Week, and March 20, 1986 as Agriculture Day; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA that the Contra Costa County Farm Bureau is COMMENDED for its services to our agricultural community and to all of our citizens. PASSED by unanimous vote of the Board Members present on this 18th day of March, 1986.
