JORNLIN, DIRECTOR tetra Social Service Director `Costa Co DATE: May 21 , 1985 u'ly SUBJECT: APPROVAL OF ANNUAL AMENDMENT TO WELFARE CASE DATA SYSTEM CONTRACT (Ref: #20-223-9) SPECIFIC REQUEST(S) OR RECOMMENDATION(S) & BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION I. RECOMMENDED ACTION Approve and authorize the Chair to execute Welfare Case Data System contract annual amendment (#20-223-9) to be effective July 1, 1985, with Alpha Beta Associates, Inc. to increase service hours and fees for Fiscal Year 1985-86. II. FINANCIAL IMPACT The cost for each County participating in the system is estimated to be $105,000 for FY 1985-86 and is to be paid by a combination of Federal (50%), State (25%) , and County (25%) funds. The number of service hours will be increased to a maximum of 28,000 hours at a fee rate of $49.82 per hour for the first 23,000 hours and $45.00 for each additional hour up to 5,000 hours. III. REASONS FOR RECOMMENDATION Contra Costa County is one of several counties contracting jointly for case data services. On June 7, 1983, the Board approved a basic contract with Alpha Beta Associates, Inc. , for the period July 1, 1983 through June 30, 1990 which provides for annual reviews and adjustments of the fees and service hours related to maintenance and development of the system. The changes outlined above are based on the December 1984 cost-of-living index.
