Social Service Director `Costa Co
DATE: May 21 , 1985 u'ly
SUBJECT: APPROVAL OF ANNUAL AMENDMENT TO
WELFARE CASE DATA SYSTEM CONTRACT (Ref: #20-223-9)
SPECIFIC REQUEST(S) OR RECOMMENDATION(S) & BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION
I. RECOMMENDED ACTION
Approve and authorize the Chair to execute Welfare Case Data System
contract annual amendment (#20-223-9) to be effective July 1, 1985,
with Alpha Beta Associates, Inc. to increase service hours and fees
for Fiscal Year 1985-86.
II. FINANCIAL IMPACT
The cost for each County participating in the system is estimated
to be $105,000 for FY 1985-86 and is to be paid by a combination
of Federal (50%), State (25%) , and County (25%) funds. The number
of service hours will be increased to a maximum of 28,000 hours at
a fee rate of $49.82 per hour for the first 23,000 hours and $45.00
for each additional hour up to 5,000 hours.
III. REASONS FOR RECOMMENDATION
Contra Costa County is one of several counties contracting jointly
for case data services. On June 7, 1983, the Board approved a basic
contract with Alpha Beta Associates, Inc. , for the period July 1, 1983
through June 30, 1990 which provides for annual reviews and adjustments
of the fees and service hours related to maintenance and development
of the system. The changes outlined above are based on the December
1984 cost-of-living index.
