NOES: None ABSENT: None. ABSTAIN: None . SUBJECT: In the Matter of Implementation of the Deep Class of Recreation Assistant - RESOLUTION NO. 85/293 Orinda Service Area R-6 WHEREAS the Board of Supervisors has enacted Resolution 83/1, as amended, referred to as the Salary Regulations, and Section 20 of that resolution relating to.the compensation and terms and conditions of employment for deep classes; and WHEREAS the Public Works Department and the Advisory Committee of Orinda Service Area have requested that the exempt deep class of Recreation Assistant - Orinda Service Area R-6 be established; BE IT BY THE BOARD RESOLVED that effective June 5, 1985 the following provisions are applicable to the deep class of Recreation Assistant - Orinda Service Area R-6: 1. Salary Range - The compensation for this deep class shall be set by the Board of Supervisors and reviewed periodically; 2. The class is allocated to the Exempt Salary Schedule at the following hourly rates: Step Hourly Rate Schedule XA 1 $ 3.60 Level 317 2 3.95 3 4.30 4 4.65 5 5.00 ,6 5.35 3. Recreation Assistants shall be appointed at the step of the salary range in accordance with their experience and the responsibilities of the position for which they are being hired. The determination of a Recreation Assistant's qualifications and the designation of the appropriate step of the salary range shall be made by the Public Works Department or designee in accordance with the following guidelines: a. A Recreation Assistant appointed as an entry level camp counsellor or as an entry level assistant to a Recreation Instructor shall not be appointed above step two (2) of the salary range; b. A Recreation Assistant with a minimum level of approved prior exper- ience in the Orinda Community Center or a .similar recreation program may be appointed as an experienced camp counsellor or as an experienced assistant to a Recreation Instructor, and shall not be appointed above step four (4) of the salary range; c. A Recreation Assistant appointed as a lifeguard or acting as an assistant in one of the Center's special programs with demonstrated skill in the activity may be appointed at step five (5) or step six (6) of the salary range. RESOLUTION NO. 85/293 4. The exempt class of Recreation Assistant - Service Area at the flat salary of $3.62 an hour is deleted from the Exempt Salary Schedule. 5. Other Provisions: Except as may be changed or modified by resolution hereafter, all provisions of the Salary Regulations relating to limited-term employment status are applicable to the exempt Recreation Assistant - Orinda Service Area R-6 deep class. 1 hereby certify that this is a true and correct copy of an action.taken and entered on the minutes of the Orig. : Personnel Department (2) Board of supervisors on the date shown. cc: (R.
