Torlakson is authorized to represent the Contra Costa Board of Supervisors in meeting ,government officials in the cities of Chilpancingo, Cuern- avaca, and Ixtapa and the States of Guerrero and Morelos, Mexico, during the period of June 27 , 1985 through July 15 , 1985 . IT IS FURTHER ORDERED that resolutions commending the Chilpancingo-.Pleasant Hill Sister City Program and acknowledging Supervisor Torlakson' s representation of Contra Costa County and Pleasant Hill in extending heartiest wishes of good will and brother- hood to the citizens of the above mentioned communities of Mexico be ADOPTED. ATTESTED: � PHIL BA CHELOR,Clerk of the Soasd of Supervisors and County Administrator 0By 4Qo ,Deputy CC; Supervisor Torlakson Auditor County Administrator X, r y IN THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, STATE OF CALIFORNIA IN THE MATTER OF THE EXTENDING WISHES OF GOODWILL ) RESOLUTION NO. 85/334 AND BROTHERHOOD TO OFFICIALS ) AND CITIZENS OF STATE OF ) MORELOS AND NEARBY COUNTIES ) ) WHEREAS, the County of Contra Costa, its citizenry, and its community organizations have dedicated themselves to the spirit: of international brotherhood; and WHEREAS, one proof of this commitment is evidenced by the City of Pleasant Hill Sister City relationship with the City of Chilpancingo in the State of Guerrero, Mexico; and WHEREAS, the City of Chilpancingo has responded by exchanging cultural and educational representatives in support of the program; WHEREAS, in the interest of better serving his consti- tuency, Supervisor Torlakson and his wife Diana are taking an extensive two-week course at the Escuela de Lenguas de Cuernavaca to better learn the Spanish language; WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors and the local citizens of Contra Costa County desire to establish a cultural exchange with our good neighbors in Mexico and look forward to sharing ideas of how to make our government work better for all our citizens; WHEREAS, Supervisor Tom Torlakson, representing the City of Pleasant Hill and the County of Contra Costa, is visiting the City of Chilpancingo, the State of Morelos and nearby counties during the period of June 27 through July 14, 1985; WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors plans to host a delegation of city and county officials from Chilpancingo and Guerrero in Contra Costa County during July 23, 1985; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that Supervisor Torlakson will extend heartiest wishes of good will and brotherhood and emphasize the cultural exchange program and honor the citizens and civic leaders of the State of Morelos and nearby counties.
