SPECIFIC REQUEST(S) OR RECOMMENDATION(S) & BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION I. RECOMMENDED ACTION: Approve and authorize the Chairwoman to execute on behalf of the County, Medical Specialist Contract #26-038-9 with Cavett M. Robert, Jr., M.D., Inc. (specialty: Neurosurgery) for the period June 1, 1985 - April 30, 1986 to be paid as follows: a. $ 280 per neurosurgery clinic session, b. $ 80 per call-in consultation, or c. Two-thirds (2/3) customary fee for each operative procedure, including pre-operative and post-operative care of patient in consultation with County Hospital's attending surgeon. d. In addition, $ 2,500 per month for on-call services. II. FINANCIAL IMPACT: Cost to the County depends upon utilization. As appropriate, patients and/or third-party payors will be billed for services. III. REASONS FOR RECOMMENDATIONS/BACKGROUND: For a number of years the County has contracted with Medical and Dental Specialists to provide specialized professional services which are not otherwise available in its hospital and clinics. On April 30, 1985 the Board approved a one-month extension of thirty of the existing Medical/Dental Specialist Contracts pending completion of negotiations with the contract physicians. This Medical Specialist Contract is prepared in the standard format approved by County Counsel's Office and has-been submitted to Cavett M. Robert, Jr., M.D. , Inc. for signature.
