The fund-raising efforts will continue up to the Centennial celebration on July 4, 1986. On February 9, 1985, the Board referred to the County Administrator a letter from County employee Alice Ferry with respect to participation in this effort, and offering her assistance to the Board. At the County Administrator' s request, Ms. Ferry surveyed the Bay Area counties and found that, of those participating in the fund-raising effort, programs ran from placing a notice in the .employee bulletin to payroll deduction plans.
