Request that the County Administrator pursue more specific information as to the experience of' Orange County. Further, request that copies of the article be sent to the Marshall and the Sheriff for comment back to the County Administrator. It is hoped this comment and review period ' would conclude in time to make appropriate recommendation for this year' s budget process. BACKGROUND INFORMATION: For several years the Board of Supervisors has discussed the question of consolidating bailiff and processing services currently conducted by two separate departments. We have again emphasized that we would like this issue resolved in the coming year and noted that the County Administrator .. was investigating the. pros and cons of consolidation in either direction. Attached is yet another article indicating that savings are possible. The experience in Orange County may not be the way we should ultimately go, but it further indicates that there are real potential savings of a significant nature by consolidating these services.
