THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA
Adopted this Order on April 9 , 1985 , by the following vote:
AYES: Supervisors Powers , McPeak , Torlakson , Fanden
NOES: None
ABSENT: Supervisor Schroder
ABSTAIN: None
SUBJECT: Additional Judicial Positions
The Board received a letter dated March 14, 1985 from
Judge Norman Spellberg , Superior Court , requesting that the Board
seek legislation in 1986 for the appointment of a sixteenth judge .
IT IS BY THE BOARD ORDERED that the request of Judge
Spellberg is REFERRED to the County Administrator.
IT IS FURTHER ORDERED that the County Administrator is
REQUESTED to review a proposal for legislation that would provide
for several additional judicial positions at one time , to be imple-
mented as the need arises; said review is to include cost saving
factors in the utilization of judges as opposed to court referees .
