SUBJECT: United Professional Fire Fighters Local 1230, Negotiation Process Representatives of the United Professional Fire Fighters Local 1230 and the Central Labor Council appeared before the Board and commented on the negotiation process relative to a new compen- sation package for fire fighters . SUBJECT: Women's Transportation Seminar Staff is to get a report on what transpired at the Women's Transportation Seminar held Tuesday, April 16, 1985 . INFORMATION MATTERS ONLY NO BOARD ACTION TAKEN THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA Adopted this Order on April 16. 1985 , by the following vote: AYES: Supervisors Powers, Schroder, McPeak, Torlakson and Fanden NOES: None ABSENT: None ABSTAIN: None SUBJECT: Proposed creation of Contra Costa -County Combined Agency Patrol Task Force for drug suppression This being the time for a presentation by the West County Drug Suppression Task Force; and Gary Yancey, District Attorney, appeared and briefed the Board on the problems that are being encountered in the North Richmond area with respect to drug suppression and enforcement problems and the cost of the proposed Combined Agency Patrol Task Force, and submitted Resolution No. 60-85 adopted by the City Council of the City of Richmond in support of the creation of a Contra Costa County Combined Agency Patrol Task Force for the North Richmond area. Richard Rainey, County Sheriff-Coroner, appeared and urged the Board to participate in the proposed task force, citing the near crises situation that exists in the target area. Boatson Woodson, 504 Market Avenue, Richmond, citizen of the North Richmond area,. urged the Board to participate in the proposed Task Force. Mr. Woodson explained to the Board some of the problems that are now being encountered by residents of the target area. Gerald Buck, Probation Officer, appeared and explained how the proposed program would affect his Department and the cost thereof. Captain Ard Johnson, Richmond Police Department, appeared and explained - how the Alameda County drug suppression program is affecting the North Richmond area, and urged the Board to give favorable consideration to the Task Force. Bob Gordon, Court Administrator, Bay Municipal Court, appeared and advised of the increase in the workload on the Court if such a program is instituted and requested the Board consider additional judicial and clerical support. Board members discussed the matter in some detail . IT IS BY THE BOARD ORDERED that the proposed creation of a Contra Costa County Combined Agency Patrol Task Force for drug suppression and special enforcement is REFERRED to the County Administrator to place into the budget finance process, and to the Finance Committee for review on May 6, 1985.
