HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 06261984 - X.6 x_ THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA Adopted this Order on !Tune 26, 1984 , by the following vote: AYES: Supervisors Powers, Fanden, Schroder, McPeak, T orlakson NOES: None ABSENT: None ABSTAIN: None SUBJECT: Assembly Bill 3413 (Bradley) Lon K. Underwood, Assistant County Registrar , appeared before the Board this date and requested that the Board adopt a position opposing Assembly Bill 3413 (Bradley) which would consolidate school, college and special district elections, and most city elections, with the general election. Mr . Underwood stated that the aforesaid legislation, if passed, would create approximately 500 different ballot types for Contra Costa County, which represents an increase of approximately 435 ballot types for a general election. He stated that his depart- ment computer capability is insufficient to accommodate such an increase. IT IS BY THE BOARD ORDERED that a position of opposition to Assembly Bill 3413 is ADOPTED. IT IS FURTHER ORDERED that Lon Underwood, Assistant County Registrar , is AUTHORIZED to represent the Board and to convey said position at the Senate Elections and Reapportionment Committee meeting on Wednesday, June 27, 1984. 1 hereby cert!fy that this Is a true and correct copy of an action taken and entered on the minutes of the Board of Suwnftore on th3 dato shown.
