County S U BJECT:AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF JTPA TITLE II-A VOCATIONAL TRAINING AGREEMENTS WITH TWENTY- NINE (29) VOCATIONAL TRAINING INSTITUTIONS FOR FPY 1984-1985. SPECIFIC REQUEST(S) OR RECOMMENDATION(S) & BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION Recommendation That the Board AUTHORIZE the Director, Contra Costa County Private Industry Council, to execute, on behalf of the County, standard form Vocational Training Agreements with twenty-nine (29) Vocational Training Institutions, named in the attached "Vocational Training Institution Listing," to provide training,at the tuition rates set forth in said agreements�to eligible enrollees under the Job Training Partnership Act (JTPA) Individual Referral Program, for the period beginning July 1, 1984 and ending June 30, 1985; and That. the Board further AUTHORIZE the Director to execute additional standard form agreements and amendment agreements with said Vocational Training Institutions as may be needed for periodic revisions, such as adding or deleting a training course, changing the training fees or to comply with changes in state or federal regulations. Background A total of $254,073 in federal funds has been allocated. to operate the Individual Referral Training Program to provide training to approximately 171 JTPA-eligible Contra Costa County residents. This allocation was included in the County's JTPA two-year federal program year Job Training Plan approved by the Board on April 10, 1984. Funds for these Agreements are 100% federal funds.
