Home My WebLink AboutMINUTES - 06191984 - 1.22 THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA Adopted this Order on June 19, 1984 by the following vote: AYES: Supervisors Powers , Fanden, Schroder, Torlakson NOES: None ABSENT: Supervisor McPeak ABSTAIN: None SUBJECT: Authorize Preapplication for Federal Assistance AIP 3-06-0050-03 Buchanan Field Airport The Public Works Director RRX 94ENDS that the Board of Supervisors authorize the Public Works Director or his designee to apply for a Federal Grant in the amount of $1,758,500 out of the Airport Improvement Program. The amount of $1 , 408 , 500 of the above grant will be utilized for certain Airfield Improvements, which work will be funded at a full 90% of the project cost. The remaining $350 , 000 Grant amount will be utilized for a new Commuter Airline Terminal Building , which will be funded at 40-50% of the total anticipted project cost. The local share of $506, 500 for these two projects will be funded out of the Airport Enterprise Account in Fiscal years 1985-86 and 1986-87. The attached application briefly describes the scope of the proposed project for the improvements at Buchanan Field Airport. The Airport Improvement Project (AIP) is a user funded trust fund program for airport development . For Federal funding purposes , Buchanan Field is considered to be a reliever airport and as such is in competition with other airports in this category for Federal funds . There is no assurance that we will receive full funding for the project. The preapplication does not commit the County to any obligation. The scope of the project can be changed at our option any time up to the tentative grant offering from the Federal government.
