THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA Adopted this Order on June 12, -$'by thfollowing vote: AYES: Supervisors Powers , Fanden, Schroder, McPeak,'Torlakson NOES: None ABSENT: None ABSTAIN: None SUBJECT: ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH. FEES - The County Administrator having responded to a Board referral of May 8, 1984 recommending various actions to impose and increase various hazardous waste, Environmental Health, and solid waste fees and taxes; and The Board Members having raised various questions regarding the level of the hazardous waste tax in other counties, the justification for the fee increases, and the extent to which those who would be impacted by the fees have been advised of the Board's pending action; and The Assistant County Administrator--Human Services, having clarified the County Administrator' s intent that the recommended referrals to County Counsel should be interpreted to mean a request from the Board that County Counsel prepare ordinances, resolutions, or such other documents as may be appropriate in order to implement the recommended fees, taxes, and fee increases; IT IS BY THE BOARD ORDERED THAT: 1 . The report of the County Administrator is referred to County Counsel with instructions to prepare any necessary ordinances, or resolutions, as required by State law in order to implement the recommendations of the County Administrator. 2. The Public Works Director is requested to report to the Board regarding the need for amendments to Resolution 83/811 in order to cover the increased costs of the Environmental Control Division in locating and planning for an alternative solid waste disposal site. 3. Before returning this matter back to the Board, the County Administrator is to survey other counties which have imposed a- hazardous waste tax to determine the current level of that tax and any proposed increases to that tax. 4. Before returning this matter back to the Board, the County Administrator is to contact all Chambers of Commerce in Contra Costa County submitting to them the proposed fee and tax increases and advising them when this matter will next be considered by the Finance Committee and/or the full Board. 5. When the necessary resolutions and/or ordinances have been prepared, the County Administrator and County Counsel are to report this matter back to the Board through the Finance Committee. /hereby certify that this is a true andcorrectcopyof an ccti�^ .`.fir; cnd entered on the minutes of the Bo=' cn tho date shown.
